Hello, ISSIPers! Happy New Year! I wish I were Gartner, McKinsey, or The Economist and…
Happy New Year!!
Happy 2013 to all of our Members! We wish you all a great year ahead and look forward to co-creating with and for you more professional development, research, education, practice, and policy related service innovation opportunities in the coming year. To that end, we are off to a great start.
We begin 2013 with our membership 170 individuals from across the globe, and 3 corporate (founding) members (IBM, Cisco, HP) strong and growing…. We now have four SIGs, Education and Research, Cloud Mobility, Service Futures, and User Experience, each actively pursuing milestones, goals and objectives for 2013 with potential lasting impact in the field. Each of these SIGs are welcoming new members, to learn more about the SIGs or to join one, please click here for more details. Also, if you would like to start a new SIG, please send an email to execdir@issip.org.
While we have been working closely with several service science related professional associations as a cornerstone of ISSIP’s strategy since our inception, we will be formalizing ISSIP’s Ambassador Program early in the year. You may find a list of our “sister” organizations by clicking here. Please send us a note if you know of other professional associations that ought to be on this list, and stay tuned to hear more about the Ambassador Program soon.
Many of you have been asking about ISSIP local chapters, and several of you have offered to start chapters across the globe including Germany, Japan, UK, Australia, New Zealand, …and in the US, Silicon Valley, Florida , Boston, Chicago,…. among others. If you like to lead a local chapter in 2013, please send us a note.
Finally, we recently kicked off ISSIP’s new website with improved look and feel, additional content, specially as it pertains to the SIGs, and social plugins. Please check out the site and let us know if you have any questions or suggestions. Since things have changed a bit, please make sure to log into your account and if you have any problems, please send an email to support@issip.org. As a member of ISSIP, you have the option to contribute service related content to the site. This includes videos or written blogs. We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to expand your online brand as a “service innovator”. By the same token, one of our goals for 2013 is to leverage web 2.0 tools and social media since we believe strongly that social will continue to play a crucial role in how we serve our members, and our members serve their customers, students, and constituents. So, please make sure to connect with us on LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Google+, and Youtube. SlideShare will come soon.
Looking forward to serving you in 2013. Happy New Year!!
