Tony Morgan, IBM Innovation Leader, Professor, University of Leeds
When: Wednesday, June 20,7:30-8:30 am US Pacific Time.
Webex Detail Below
Background:
Tony Morgan is a technical and innovation leader in IBM. In 2016 he was appointed by the Royal Academy of Engineering on a three-year appointment as a Visiting Professor in the University of Leeds in the UK.
A key part of the visiting role has been to develop and deliver a new module for final year undergraduates called “Innovation Thinking and Practice”. During the module, students are grouped into diverse cross-school teams and tasked with developing business solutions and prototypes to address industry-based innovation challenges. The students then present these to a panel of senior academic and CxO level industry guests.
During this talk, Tony will share his experience and discuss the skills learned by the students during this very practical module, including innovation management, design thinking, prototyping, commercial awareness, collaboration and communications skills.
