From neurons to roads – detection of curvilinear structures in images
Agata Mosinska, EPFL
When: Thursday, August 16, 10:30 am US Eastern.
Zoom Detail Below
Background:
Agata Mosinska obtained her degree in Biomedical Engineering from Imperial College London. She then joined a Computer Vision Lab at EPFL as a PhD student, where she works under the supervision of Prof. Pascal Fua. Her main research interests include image segmentation, object classification and active learning applied to satellite and biomedical images.
In this talk, she will introduce a new loss term that is aware of the higher-order topological features of linear structures. She will also present how we can recover connectivity of the detected network, which is of great importance in neuroscience or autonomous driving.
