Dr. Freund introduced the T-shape concept and walked ISSIP attendees through the platform, highlighting how professionals can use the MyT-Me web based app to build a bridge between their current competencies and potential for future development utilizing the platform’s clear visualization and ‘scoring,’ based on experience and personal interests. We viewed Jim Spohrer’s MyT-Me representation as an example for discussion. Lou and Pavel concluded with contact information and an invitation to all participants to reach out for a personal consultation to discover their own T-shape.
What is MyT-Me?
MyT-Me is an AI tool designed to find and present clear visualizations of a professional’s T-shape strengths and weaknesses. The T-shape concept uses two groupings to assess a person’s capabilities and skills in a ‘T-shape. The ’T-Top’ scores ‘boundary crossing competencies’ using nine categories of assessment (Project Management, organizational design, communications, critical thinking, Teamwork, networking, empathy, perspective global understanding.),On the T-stem,’ we find Analytic Thinking and Problem Solving. using five categories of assessment, (1) Membership, authorships & recognitions, (2) Education, degrees & certifications, (3) Operations, responsibilities & expertise, (4) Software/device proficiency, and (5) Methods/Skills Proficiency.
Dr. Freund shared the concepts behind the platform’s analytic model. Dashboard presentations drawn from analysis of a database created in partnership with ISSIP’s Jim Spohrer, of over 800 ISSIP members, for whom the tool scraped LinkedIn profiles. The presenting team strongly encourages ISSIP members to register for MyT-Me participation – available at no charge to ISSIP members because ISSIP is a pilot customer — by uploading their LinkedIn profile to view an initial, ‘as is’ T-score, reflecting scoring based on current information available in LinkedIn.
How can it be used?
The platform uses AI tools to transfer your LinkedIn® profile or resumé into this unique MyT-Me scoring system. Scoring is simultaneously and automatically generated by uploading a LinkedIn profile or résumé. Once established, MyT-Me can be updated on any of the forms at any time with new entries and updates for your Education, Positions, Deeds, Skills, and Tools.
For a learning organization, the platform can be utilized to create a structure for effective career coaching to enable more effective career decisions, personal planning growth; and develop goals for continuing professional growth and identify appropriate volunteer experiences to complement development needs. For an organization the platform can assist to identify trends in employee strengths to improve team building and optimize performance. For an individual, the MyT-Me Platform can also be used to identify T-shape gaps based on your score and the top percentile scores in your field, plan specific strategies to address goals related to improving components of your T-score.
Much thanks from ISSIP to our presenters Dr. Lou Freund, Pavel Savva and Jim Spohrer and to all those who attended the live event for providing such a robust set of questions and comments.
