2026 Quarterly Welcome Events

Quarterly welcome events are a great way for ISSIP participants, new and old, to get to know each other. Vaishali Mane is ISSIP’s Community Engagement Leader and established these service innovation community events according to the Give-Get-Grow principles described in her Business Expert Press book The Power of Community: Give-Get-Grow.

Each quarter those who register to join the ISSIP community from the website Join Us form are sent an optional calendar invitation to either join the event live or watch recordings of Session A (best for Europe and East Coast USA) or Session B (best for Asia and West Coast USA). Jim Spohrer ISSIP Founding Board Member co-hosts the meetings. Both Vaishali and Jim are eager to meet and learn more about the new participants, as well as any other ISSIP community members who join to welcome the new comers. Michele Caroll, ISSIP Executive Director has a short recording that is played that provides and excellent quick overview of ISSIP programs.

In the most recent event Session A recording, we learned from new ISSIP participant and a world-renowned Service Design leader – Srini Srinivasan – about the Don Norman Design Award for Humanity (learn more about how to get involved at the website here).

On the same day, in the Session B recording, we learned about three other participants who are relatively new to the ISSIP global service innovation community of practice: (1) Hemant Soni, and his work with AI transforming the Telecom industry, (2) Shima Kamyab, and her startup work with Zalva Tech, and AI transforming water treatment and unlocking hidden value in mine waste, and Riddhi Bajaj, and her work in the MS Business Analytics Program at University of Washington Tacoma. The discussions always lead to sharing of ideas, perspectives, and numerous online information resources; for example, ISSIP AI Collab recent work on ISSIP onboarding course about service innovation, and ISSIP Founding Board Member and 2026 President, Haluk Demirkan’s work on generative AI as a service system.
