Call for Volunteer
Discovery Summit Program Manager

Duration: 1-year

 

Consistent with ISSIP Bylaws, and Policies, ISSIP is calling for nominations for a Program Manager to manage the logistics of ISSIP Discovery Summits in 2019 (Virtual & San Francisco Bay Area).  Exact dates will be determined in Jan 2019.

 

The ISSIP Discovery Summits are working sessions where industry experts, leading academic researchers, and policy influencers come together to take a deep dive into an intersection of a leading edge technology trend and total user experience and explore how institutions and individuals can leverage the service innovation opportunities that exist at these intersections.

 

The Discovery Summit Program Manager receives a complimentary pass to the event ($990 value) and recognition in a follow-on book that ISSIPplans to publish through its partnership with Business Expert Press (an example of such recently published book: https://amzn.to/2xXgq33).  

 

All members of ISSIP are invited to participate in this process.  Qualifications for this position include interest in the intersection of emerging digital technologies and service innovation, and strong organization and project management skills.

 

Responsibilities include:

• Working with the ISSIP Executive Director on organizing for the DS checklist.
• Working with the on-site support to ensure AV requirements during the summit is met.
• Scribing during the workshop (or from the recorded sessions afterward)

 

This role is a great volunteer opportunity for a graduate student or early career professional to network with and learn from top-tier industry and academic leaders and scholars working in the intersection of digital technologies including AI, IoT, Data Science, and service innovation.
