Yueming Xu to Manage ISSIP Matching Programs Like Benevity to Grow Funding for ISSIP

In 2024, ISSIP applied to become an approved charity that Benevity would pay matching funds to volunteer hours of employees to, at the urging of former ISSIP president Heather Yurko, then with Mastercard, and successfully became an approved non-profit cause with Benevity. That year, Heather had her team of ISSIP volunteers post their volunteering time into Benevity as did several folks from IBM and Cisco and ISSIP received just over $6000 from Benevity in matching funds from IBM, Cisco and Mastercard, who support the causes their employees believe in and give their time to. But in 2025, that number dropped to $2000 – reflecting thankfully, Christine Ouyang and Yueming Xu’s diligent, continued postings. But only theirs.
As we wrap 2026, we are VERY excited to announce that Yueming Xu of IBM, who has been successfully managing our ambassador program buildout over the past two years will step into a newly created role of Matching Funds Programs Manager for ISSIP. She and the team she will recruit will work with the executive director and vice president to:
- Coach ISSIPs leadership and global community (via email, newsletter, workshops and other means) to:
- Define whether your organization currently participates in Benevity or other volunteering / funds matching program,
- Coach individuals on how to submit volunteer hours for matching funds each quarter.
- Provide materials and FAQs to facilitate the process and success of the program
- And/Or define other paths of giving to non-profits in which ISSIP might participate (such as Vaishali Mane’s brilliant initiative when GM Cares presented her with an award for her work in the amount of $100 she could have, or donate to the charity of her choice, she did not see ISSIP on the list of non-profits from which to choose, and asked them to ADD ISSIP to the LIST! And successfully donated the funds to ISSIP.)
