Position Statement

I’ve had the pleasure of working with ISSIP since the ‘early days’ as a participant/presenter, and in more recent years as a contributor to the strategy committee (serving as the Co-chair with Utpal Mangla in 2022) and as a member of the Discovery Cafes working group, leading discussion events around diversity, inclusion and belonging. As a “connector”, I have a broad and diverse network of subject matter experts on a wide range of topics and technologies. Working with ISSIP has provided me with the opportunity to bring a number of these interesting individuals into the ISSP conversations. My Mission for ISSIP: ISSIP has a number of new and exciting endeavors in play for the future of the organization. I’m excited to be a part of ISSIP at this pivotal time! I have a strong personal belief in a number of ISSIP actions which will elevate ISSIP to the next stage of its leadership in service innovation priorities for technology, business and social responsibility. Those actions include: (1) Raising the awareness and recognition of ISSIP as the premier services professional organization and creating alignment with like-minded collaborators in other organizations (IEEE, UIDP, ACM …) thru best practices assessments. (2) Creation of a ‘heat map’ for required future ready ‘right’ skills, based upon the future of work foundations in place. Understanding the skills required would allow ISSIP to provide certifications/badges for service innovation practitioners as part of a new/continuing education services curriculum. (3) Explore new funding opportunities such as government proposals or low-cost courses (see above).
