Excited to announce the ๐˜พ๐™–๐™ก๐™ก ๐™›๐™ค๐™ง ๐™‹๐™–๐™ฅ๐™š๐™ง for our sessionย “๐˜ฝ๐™ง๐™ž๐™™๐™œ๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™œ ๐™๐™ง๐™–๐™ฃ๐™จ๐™ก๐™–๐™ฉ๐™ž๐™ค๐™ฃ๐™–๐™ก ๐™‚๐™–๐™ฅ๐™จ ๐™›๐™ค๐™ง ๐™€๐™ฃ๐™๐™–๐™ฃ๐™˜๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™œ ๐™ƒ๐™ช๐™ข๐™–๐™ฃ ๐™’๐™š๐™ก๐™ก-๐˜ฝ๐™š๐™˜๐™ค๐™ข๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™œโ€œย at the 17th International Conference on Applied Human Factors and Ergonomics (AHFE) 2026, held in Istanbul and online, July 20-24!

Translational gaps between scientific discoveries and applied service innovations pose significant social and economic challenges. This session, part of the 13th Conference Track on The Human Side of Service Engineering, invites contributions exploring how theย ๐™๐™ง๐™–๐™ฃ๐™จ๐™ก๐™–๐™ฉ๐™ž๐™ค๐™ฃ๐™–๐™ก ๐™Ž๐™š๐™ง๐™ซ๐™ž๐™˜๐™š ๐™๐™š๐™จ๐™š๐™–๐™ง๐™˜๐™ ๐™–๐™ฃ๐™™ ๐˜ฟ๐™š๐™จ๐™ž๐™œ๐™ฃ ๐™ˆ๐™š๐™ฉ๐™๐™ค๐™™๐™ค๐™ก๐™ค๐™œ๐™ฎ (๐™๐™Ž๐™๐˜ฟ๐™ˆ)ย can systematically accelerate progress from scientific discovery to impactful service innovation.

Key topics include bridging translational gaps, like โ€œinnovation-to-implementation gapsโ€œ between advanced technologies, e.g. AI and organizational practices; โ€œsocioeconomic and skill gapsโ€œ; gaps between knowledge and action as obstacles in aligning research, design and engineering; modeling technology adoption and service ecosystems, and harnessing technology for public good in line with the UN SDGs.
