AI Collab 2024 Call for Participants: Faculty, Students, Mentors and SME’s!

In its first year, the AI Collab has worked with four educational partner institutions, San Jose State University, California State University Long Beach, Penn State University School of Engineering, and the University of Washington’s Center for Data Analytics. Student participants included undergraduate and graduate students from a variety of service industry areas such as engineering, business, and design. These student groups created projects including a playbook for ISSIP volunteers “Content Creation with Generative AI”, data coding and analysis of the ISSIP member survey on AI harms and benefits, and a series of service innovation case studies using a wide variety of generative AI tools. These students conducted their research using various forms of generative AI platforms including text generation, images creation, and video content generation platforms to create their strengths and weaknesses analysis and presentations. The projects can be seen at: https://issip.org/ai-collab-offering-participating-universities/

The AI Collab is currently seeking partnerships with ISSIP members for professional mentors and subject matter experts to guide and inform the university projects and to engage in the research and discovery process with the students. We are seeking academic partners including faculty and students who want to work with industry experts on a new series of generative AI projects starting in August 2024. If you would like to discuss how you might can become an AI Collab ISSIP professional or industry mentor or how you might be included in one of our projects as a faculty member or on a student team, please feel free to contact Debra.Satterfield@csulb.edu.
