Newsletter Editor, ISSIP

Consistent with ISSIP Bylaws, and Policies, we are conducting a search for the next Editor of ISSIP Monthly Newsletter.   ISSIP President Ammar Rayes has appointed ISSIP Executive Director  Yassi Moghaddam as Chair of the Search committee. Other members of the Search Committee include: Haluk Demirkan,  Professor ASU, Wendy Murphy, IBM, Don Allen, Cisco, Charlie Bess, HP.

All members of ISSIP are invited to participate in this process.  Qualifications for this position include

  • A demonstrated interest in a broad range of topics at the interface of service science, design, engineering, management, and marketing,
  • Well-versed in Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Google+, YouTube, Slideshare, etc.,
  • Moderate amount of project management.

This position is highly visible with the opportunity to work directly with ISSIP leadership and members, which include senior executives from IBM, Cisco, HP, Tata Consulting, Dell, plus esteemed academics and innovative entrepreneurs.  The position requires ~ 2-3 hours/week.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working with ISSIP Exec Director to collect general ISSIP related content including Special Interested Groups (SIGs), Chapter, Ambassadors, and Committee related news and announcements.
  • Working with SIG Chairs, Chapter Leaders, ISSIP Ambassadors to collect content.
  • Working with the ISSIP Community to recruit Writers for monthly Featured Articles.
  • Developing a pipeline of content.
  • Motivating members to contribute to ISSIP blogs with content that can be used in Newsletters.
  • Editing content for relevance, accuracy, and integrity.
  • Reaching out to the membership on a monthly basis to solicit Members’ related news  (awards announcements, events, workshops, MOOCs, etc.)
  • Ensuring Final draft is complete and no areas are left empty.
  • Contributing editorial pieces if interested (optional).
