Panel on Service System Sustainability

On May 3, 2023, the ISSIP Ambassador Panel entitled Improving Service System Sustainability: Issues and Challenges was held.

Dr. Saviano recommended shifting the focus from improving service systems sustainability to how service systems can contribute to sustainability and better alignment of values. Dr. Maglio shared a specific example project project aimed at California’s Central Valley (Circular Bioeconomy Innovation Collaborative) and a constellation of stakeholders aligning. Dr. Zaki described a framework for better aligning the digital, physical, and social realms to improve service system sustainability (also see Dr. Zaki’s recent Harvard Business Review article illustrating AI and the digital realm to improve getting feedback from customers). In conclusion, all the panelist provided their perspective on the importance of Tech4Good in sustainability efforts.
